Irene Arbore Exterior, September 06th , 2017. When dealing with a lot of concrete, it’s often nice to balance out its coldness with some warm wood elements. It’s what studio Clauwers & Simon did when designing this residence in Belgium. The building is organized around a courtyard and its design is a tribute to Belgian architect Juliann Lampens who is known for the extensive use of concrete both inside and out the buildings designed back in the 1960s. The impact of the concrete in this particular case is softened by the timber and the views of the large garden.
Advent Fournier Bedroom, September 06th , 2017. What better way to celebrate the ritual of sleep than by constructing a headboard from pillows?! This next DIY idea creates a grid-like design by using puffy pillows in understated shades and patterns. There’s simplicity in repetition, and this linear arrangement can’t help but create a modern vibe.
Lealia Lesage Bedroom, September 06th , 2017. There are times when simple equals modern, and this project takes chic simplicity to a new level. To make your own plywood headboard, take a trip to the local home supply store and purchase a few simple items: one large sheet of plywood, sandpaper, stain and sealer. Yes, it’s that easy! When you’ve sanded, stained and sealed your headboard, set it behind the bed and enjoy the earthy statement it creates.
Chantrell Meunier Interior, September 06th , 2017. You can never have too many cushions, especially not when you’re decorating a very simple and neutral sofa or armchair. The cushions are often what gives character to a room, what makes it look comfortable, inviting and cozy. But cushions are just one of the many things you can use as accent pieces for a room. You can also explore other options and to find new and ingenious ways in which to use them. Always try to push your own boundaries and to experiment.
Celesse Legrand Bedroom, September 06th , 2017. This last upholstered headboard project has a twist–the fabric and batting are placed inside of two shutter frames! Using metallic paint on the wood and striking fabric for the middle gives the headboard a contemporary feel. User-friendly supplies like a staple gun and hot glue keep the process simple.
Aiglentine Dupont Interior, September 06th , 2017. Even your storage bins can be filled with more style than the usual “plain Jane” looks. The sauna is meticulously designed, featuring rimless corner glazing that allows it to offer great views from both inside and out. If you’re seeking privacy, this is not the model for you. Both saunas and steam rooms are very relaxing, being a perfect place for anyone seeking to chill out and unwind. In addition, they’ll help you decompress after a workout which leaves your muscles tired and stiff. The heat and the steam help loosen the muscles and the fibers recover faster.
Aiglentine Dupont Bedroom, September 06th , 2017. Space comes into play with the modern, minimalist look. In order to capture the airy feel of a penthouse apartment, you need to cut the clutter right back. A good way of doing so is to invest in a chic leather bed with drawers. These provide the luxurious modern look with room to hide away all your various bits and pieces. And if you want a large flat-screen TV in your room, look at bed options which will house the TV in the foot of the bed – it’s a great way to achieve the minimalist look.
Chantrell Meunier Interior, September 06th , 2017. The best source of inspiration for just about anything is nature. You can always find inspiration in the beautiful colors of a flowery field, the tranquility of a forest or the wonderful textures found everywhere around. You can bring some of that beauty inside your home by using materials such as wood mixed with earthy colors and organic patterns. Chairs are more important than you think. They can define the style of a space. For example, a very simple dining table can be complemented by a series of colorful and interesting-looking chairs and this will make the whole room stand out. Similarly, the armchairs and accent chairs you use in the living room can set the mood. A beanbag chair will create a very casual and cozy ambiance while a more traditional design will add elegance to the space.
Chantay Clement Interior, September 06th , 2017. Add some interest to the end of the bed, even if your space is more traditional. This will add an ounce of personalization and fun without making a mess of the room. These play teepees are a fun addition to the playroom but also a good choice for making relaxing reading nooks. Of course, they too come in a variety of fun colors and prints. Your candle votives can have a little pizazz too. We loved these gilded pieces for a posh appeal, but you can add spice and youth with bright tones as well.
